How To Fund Your Cedis, Naira, or Kenyan Shillings Wallet

Step 1: Log in to your WeWire Account

  • Open the WeWire app and log in with your credentials.

  • Go to Overview and click on ‘Deposit Money’. The Overview is located on the desktop's left side of the screen. On mobile, click the triple bar ≡ menu icon at the top right section.

Step 2: Select the deposit currency

  • Select the currency you want to deposit from (Pounds, Dollar, Naira, Cedis, Kenyan Shillings, Euro, or UAE Dirham)

  • Input the amount you want to deposit.

  • Select Cedis (GHS), Naira (NGN), or Kenyan Shillings (KES) as the wallet you want to fund

  • Click ‘Continue’

Step 3: Choose Your Deposit Method

For NGN, GHS, or KES deposits, select "Manual Transfer" if you have a Tier 1 account; Upgraded Business Accounts have the ‘Instant Transfer’ option for swifter deposits.

For USD, GBP, EUR, or AED direct deposits, select your preferred cross-border transfer method (e.g., SWIFT, FPS, SEPA) and proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Initiate the Transfer

TRANSFER METHOD 1: INSTANT TRANSFER (FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS)

  • Go to your bank app or banking portal.

  • Input your WeWire Account Number, desired amount, and bank name as shown on the WeWire transaction screen.

  • Initiate the transfer.

  • Your wallet will be automatically credited.

  • It’s that easy!

TRANSFER METHOD 2: MANUAL TRANSFER (FOR TIER 1 ACCOUNTS)

For NGN, GHS, or KES transfers, select "Manual Transfer" and proceed.

  1. Go to your bank app or banking portal.

  2. Input the EXACT amount indicated for deposit on WeWire, the account number, the bank name, and the MANDATORY reference number shown on the WeWire transaction screen.

  3. Initiate the transfer.

  4. Return to WeWire.

  5. Click ‘Confirm Deposit’.

  6. Type in the sender’s name and upload proof of transaction (transaction receipt).

  7. Click ‘I have made the deposit’.

  8. Funds will be credited to your account once we confirm your transfer.

  9. If you have not made the transfer, click ‘I'll transfer later’

If you are transferring from a USD, GBP, EUR or AED account

  1. Select your preferred methods for sending cross-border transfers (SWIFT, FPS, or SEPA)

  2. Go to your bank app or banking portal.

  3. Input the EXACT amount indicated for deposit on WeWire, the account number, the bank name, and the MANDATORY reference number shown on the WeWire transaction screen.

  4. Initiate the transfer.

  5. Return to WeWire.

  6. Click ‘Confirm Deposit’

  7. Type in the sender’s name and upload proof of transaction (transaction receipt).

  8. Click ‘I have made the deposit’

  9. Funds will be credited to your account once we confirm your transfer.

  10. If you have not made the transfer, click ‘I'll transfer later’
