How do I sign up on WeWire

What are the onboarding requirements?
Usually, the documents we need during the account setup process differ based on the type of account you’re requesting:
Individual Account: Means of Identification and a facial recognition capture
Business Account:
Board resolution nominating an authorized person to act on behalf of the company.
Business registration documents
ID cards of Directors
Proof of residential address for Business
What forms of identification are considered valid?
We accept government-issued driver’s licenses, passport cards, national identification cards, and visa documents.
How long does it take to open an account?
Generally, our onboarding timelines vary depending on the type of account you’re applying for:
Individual Account: In less than 10 minutes after all requirements have been provided and approved.
Business Account: Your opening depends on how quickly you provide the required documentation. Once all the necessary documents are provided, verification is completed within 24 hours.
How can I obtain a virtual card from WeWire Africa?
To obtain a virtual card, sign up for an account with WeWire Africa. Once your account is verified, you can generate virtual cards through our platform by clicking the ‘cards’ option and filling in all necessary information.
How much does it cost to create a virtual card on WeWire Africa?
Creating a virtual dollar card on WeWire costs $5.
Does it cost to fund my dollar card on WeWire?
Yes, funding your wewire dollar card costs $1 every time you fund it.
What happens when I mistakenly terminate my wewire virtual card?
Once a card is terminated on WeWire, the details of the card cannot be restored for security reasons, and a new one has to be created if needed.
Can I perform transactions involving Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) on the customer app?
The WeWire customer app currently supports UGX transactions via the web platform. However, TZS is only supported through our OTC services. Reach out to the OTC team at support@wewireafrica.com.
Does the app support dollar transfers?
Customers with business accounts can make dollar transfers on the WeWire platform.
Does the app allow funding the USD balance directly?
Business customers can direct fund their USD wallet on WeWire from their KYC'd accounts. They can also convert from other currencies to fund their USD wallet. However, this feature is not available to individual accounts.
Can my WeWire card process refunds?
Yes, WeWire virtual card processes refunds. All refunds are returned to your WeWire virtual card once the refunding party or website issues the refund.
How do I reset my account password?
To reset your password, click on the ‘FORGOT PASSWORD’ link while trying to sign into your WeWire account. An email with a link to help you reset will be sent after.
Which countries does WeWire Africa support registered businesses in?
Businesses registered in Ghana, Nigeria, Canada, Dubai, Uganda, Kenya, and the United States are all supported on WeWire Africa.
